Interested in praying, serving and/or giving in support of those engaged in mission work with Indigenous Australians? For example you could serve in a short term, placement which may lead into committing long term. Or apply directly for a role as advertised below. And If so, it would be awesome if you can stay longer than two years.
Indigenous folk often appreciate western Christians who come to partner with them with a learning and listening attitude, willing to journey alongside, to encourage and not take over.
Will you consider one of many possible roles to serve in the NT? See below for a centralised spot for advertised mission opportunities across the NT! (Either volunteer or paid positions).
The opportunities on this page can be great examples of how you might be called to engage with missions requests. (These missions are associate/members of Missions Interlink).
We recommend you do some cross cultural training (such as MIST held in March each year in Darwin and other places around Australia). Also check out the ‘Welcome to indigenous ministry in the Top End’ booklet.
If you are from the Territory and looking for opportunities to serve in other parts of the world, then search further in Mission Seek!

Our vision is to get along side and equip Indigenous Christians in Darwin in their ministry, mission and emerging leadership. It is crucial that they own and shape ministry for themselves if it is to endure fruitfully; to know and worship Jesus, and make him known, in their own languages and ways.
I work with indigenous adults to work with their young people using the Kriol Bible. This is done relationally. This includes working with Indigenous adults and teams visiting with running kids programs.
A result of my Wycliffe MAD short term experience, I decided to do a placement, & ended up working in Darwin as a lawyer for 6 years. The trip taught me many lessons in cross cultural communication and connecting including how to have "listening" attitude when working with Indigenous Australian.
