Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAFI) is an organisation using light aircraft to deliver help, hope and healing in developing countries. For over 75 years, MAF has been transporting patients, relief workers, produce and medical supplies to the world’s remotest regions and places of deepest human need – places where flying is not a luxury but a lifeline.
MAF operates in 13 countries across the world supporting local infrastructure and logistics surrounding missions. We provide life-saving medical evacuations and transport essential supplies to those who who need it most. MAF seeks to transform the lives of the people not just physically but spiritually too.
We are looking for experienced mission pilots to serve in these countries and help us in our goal to reach isolated communities.
Responsibilities
To serve as a Pilot with MAF you will need to possess an extensive set of skills, having the ability to anticipate changes and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
You will also safely and efficiently operate MAF aircraft in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Your role will be to actively embrace your flying duties by maintaining flying qualifications in accordance with MAF standard operating procedures and national regulations. You will have a pro-active approach to the role – ensuring national licensing and medical requirements are met.
As part of a team, in addition to flying, you will share other duties to maintain operational efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety of operations in the programme.
You will be expected to maintain and improve personal & professional standards by participating in necessary training and completing relevant modules. You will also be tasked to undertake all duties commensurate with the role.
**NOTE: You will need to obtain appropriate work permits for the country the position is based in**
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential:
ICAO Commercial Pilots License with instrument rating
Aviation Medical – Class 1
IELTS Minimum English proficiency level 6 or equivalent
Approx 500 – 1000+ flight hours (the requirement is dependant on the country AOC and demands of aircraft and environment)
Aptitude in verbal and numerical reasoning
Demonstrated knowledge and operational proficiency in aircraft performance and loading, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, weather, aircraft instrumentation, crew/cockpit resource management, pilot decision making, safety and quality systems
Desirable:
Experience and recent proficiency in the operation of small aircraft, single pilot operations to CPL standards
Experience of working in commercial or corporate aviation highly recommended
