YOU can help bring hope... and build a future! There are many ways you can be part of bringing hope, and a better future, to the children and women of India and Sri Lanka
Mukti Australia is a Christian not-for-profit agency, which is taking action to make this happen!
Mukti India (known in India as Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission), is a Christian community where destitute women and children irrespective of their background are accepted, cared for, transformed, and empowered to be salt and light in society. This includes babies, children, primary & secondary aged girls, young women, senior women, girls and women with a disability - blind, physically and/or mentally challenged.
Mukti has a kindergarten, Marathi primary school, English primary & high school, Manorama Girls High School, Junior College, vocational training, computer academy, nursery and adoption program, community day care centres, expansion homes in 6 states, medical and hospital programmes, community development, marriage programme, local church and a conference and retreat centre. Mukti also has various programmes in 18 centres across 8 States of India.
Wings of Hope Lanka is our partner organisation in Sri Lanka, working alongside families living in urban and rural slums as well as tea plantation "lines". Wings of Hope endeavours to provide an opportunity for women and children living in slum conditions to be:
- Restored from poverty, exploitation, abuse and social exclusion
- Renewed through hope and an understanding of their own personal worth and potential
- Empowered to live out purpose-filled lives
Wings of Hope equips and empowers them through education, health & hygiene, rights awareness, skills training and income-generating initiatives.
Mukti Australia involves Australians in empowering and transforming the lives of destitute and abandoned girls and women in India and Sri Lanka through prayer, sponsorships, partnership in projects and volunteering.
There are lots of exciting ways to be involved! Contact admin@mukti.org.au or 03 - 9890 0211 for more details.
