Tumaini is a Swahili word meaning hope. Tumaini Counselling Centres serve the members of AIM, SIL and also missionaries from over 160 like-minded agencies throughout Africa. Our mission is to provide preventative and restorative mental health services and pastoral care in order to enhance missionary resilience and fruitfulness. We are in need of another Marriage and Family Therapist who can: 1. Provide counselling to individuals, couples, families 2. Assist or lead workshops on mental health issues 3. Provide information and advice to team regarding family/marriage issues. Be available to provide advice to AIM Leadership.
Experience and Qualifications include MFT, MSTW or MA in Counselling or equivalent licensure, 1000 counseling hours and 50 hours of supervision. Desire experience in a variety of therapy modalities, in supervision, living cross culturally, working as a member of a multi-cultural team and providing distance counselling.
Candidate must be creative, self-motivated, able to take initiative, able to ask questions or for direction when appropriate; ability to thrive in a cross-cultural team and ministry setting; team player, resilient, proven consistent walk with God and godly life-style, able to cope well under pressure. Someone from a non-English speaking context is especially needed.
