Vision & Strategy
Africa Inland Mission's European Africa Diaspora vision is to see movements to Christ among unreached African peoples in Europe and to mobilise the African Diaspora church for mission to unreached peoples. Our strategy is to ensure there is a viable gospel witness among every African Unreached People Group in the Diaspora through:
• Praying: for the unreached and more labourers, and to establish prayer movements
• Sending: mobilising, equipping and placing compassionate workers and teams in strategic cities
• Blessing: expressing both the proclamation and demonstration of the Good News of Jesus
• Partnering: partnering with local churches, organisations and ministries who share this vision
What’s the end goal?
We desire to see partnership with local ministries result in unreached Africans and other UPGs becoming disciples of Jesus and gathering together with others in small reproducing discovery groups and local churches, as part of the wider body of Christ. We believe our work will be accomplished when there are reproducing disciples gathering among all the African unreached people groups in the region. We recognise we can’t isolate Africans from the multi-cultural metropolitan areas in Europe and so understand that our efforts will reach beyond Africans.
Why Europe?
We want to use what we have learned on the continent of Africa to reach the growing population of Africans now living in Europe. There is a growing number of North Africans and Sub-Saharan Africans migrating to Europe. It is estimated that 1.5 million such people entered Europe between 2015-2016. Current trends point to an increase. Many coming are from a Muslim background. Many African diaspora churches are also growing. We want to partner with them to reach their new neighbours. We are looking to build teams of disciple makers across Europe – both expats and Europeans. We are desiring compassionate people who are passionate about disciple-making, casting vision, and partnering with national believers to grow disciple-making movements.
What will partnership look like?
We desire to partner with churches, other organisations and local ministries. We value holistic approach to ministry that demonstrates the compassion of Christ, serving the practical needs of the underserved, while also effectively making new disciples of family units who in turn are reaching their extended families and neighbourhoods. We desire to help local churches and ministries expand their reach and effectiveness by mobilising and placing both long term workers and short-term teams. We especially want to serve the growing African diaspora churches towards this end.
