English teaching can open doors to the nations! Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages trains you to teach English as a second language. TESOL also offers you high quality, practical training which opens doors for all kinds of future opportunities. You will learn to teach from a Biblical worldview and are equipped to develop language teaching skills.
During this seminar we examine topics relevant to English teaching for a Christian mission context. Topics include: second language acquisition, syllabus design, pioneering new ministry, classroom leadership, teaching macroskills and methodologies and more. You will learn how to create your own teaching aids for a variety of situations. As teachers in a missions context it is also vital that you develop godly teaching characteristics.
During the seminar you will immediately apply what you’re learning. The seminar includes practicum components designed to give you and other TESOL participants hands-on experience in a real language classroom. Classes are taught in teams, and evaluations are given by both peers and TESOL instructors. During your practicum you have the opportunity to reach out to people, as you teach and put into practice what you’ve learned. TESOL training opens doors to serve and influence in nations all around the world.
Accommodation is available for the seminar at an additional cost (email info@ywamperth.org.au for further information).
