School of Worship | YWAM Perth

The School of Worship is a dynamic opportunity to gain effective training in worship ministry, respond to anointed teaching and explore how to use worship as a means of standing in the gap for nations and peoples. You will grow in your Biblical understanding, gain skill, and use worship to extend His Kingdom. This can equip you powerfully for any future worship ministry.

Each week of our lecture phase we delve into topics such as: God’s character, the Biblical basis for worship, the Biblical actions of praise and worship, songwriting and musicianship, developing worship teams, worship used in intercession and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. 

As you encounter God in fresh ways throughout lecture phase, you will begin to lead worship as well, both within the classroom and out on the streets. You will discover and implement principles of leading people into God's presence as we form worship teams and help each other grow. 

Worship isn’t meant to stay within four walls. Every week we worship and pray for our city in a variety of locations such as parks, beaches and public spaces. These are great times of getting God's heart and seeing more of the city. These are also opportunities to connect with people, as they are drawn to Jesus as we lift Him up.

What you’ve been learning on lecture phase and its significance becomes clear as you and your SOW team bring the light of worship to spiritually dark places on outreach. As you take what we’ve learned to the nations, we’ll get more opportunities to grow in worship leading, intercession, as well as passing on what we've learned to others. Often we'll focus on spiritually hard places, using worship and prayer to see change in the atmosphere. And we'll take every opportunity to share about the One we worship with those who don't know Him yet.

We also seek to encourage others with what we’ve gained through the school. This intentional approach to multiplication means more believers are equipped with the powerful resources of strategic worship and prayer. On outreach you and your SOW team help to strengthen churches, both in Australia and overseas. This approach to partnership recognises our role as servants, not stars. Lives are changed and atmospheres shift as we proclaim His glory in the nations!

All you gain through the SOW will set you up for effective, Spirit-led worship ministry in the nations.

Completion of a Discipleship of Training School (@ YWAM)
