Intercultural Training Australia (ITA) is looking for anyone who feels called to teach English (or other languages) as a ministry to join our community of passionate teachers-in-training at TESOL. 11025NAT - Certificate IV in Teaching an Additional Language - TESOL is offered in collaboration with the Australian College of Career Development (ACCD): RTO provider (No 31980).
TESOL is a course that will give you the practical skills needed to become a language teacher in any country on the mission field. This internationally recognised certification can open many doors of opportunity, both in limited-access nations and among your multicultural neighbours.
There are no prerequisites except a fairly good grasp of the English language. English does not have to be your first language and multilingual students are encouraged to apply to this course!
Whether you’re looking:
this course will equip you with the needed skills.
Our training methods are interactive rather than lecture style, so be prepared to be involved as you learn course content through workshops, rotational stations, mini-teaching spots, and peer sharing. Our action-reflection model helps you to adapt and apply new teaching ideas during the course and with your own English language learners.
We will encourage and support you throughout the course, and as you complete the competency-based assessment. Assessments are all very practical and all lead towards practice teaching. We have allowed in-class time to complete some of the assessments during the two-week intensive, while a few others will be completed as homework. Assessments will also be completed between the intensives and after. Once you start your practice teaching you will need time to plan lessons and prepare resources; this could happen between the intensives or after.
You have six months from the end date of the face-to-face phase to complete the assessment tasks. Some people complete the course within 3 months.
TESOL will be an unforgettable learning experience for you.

"Hello” and “Sawadee” from Thailand! I took the TESOL course online and I’m so thankful it was offered online because I got to meet so many wonderful TESOL classmates living in Australia and beyond. After competing my certification, I started teaching online. Just this week I began onsite classes for the first time and have been putting into practice the activities we learned in a different way than online. My favourite part of being a TESOL-trained teacher is the amount of fun and activities we are encouraged to use in a lesson. I want my classroom to be fun and warm, and a place where every student can feel more confident in English and I am thankful for how he has given me TESOL and English classes to connect with people in a new way.
