Role: A brief window of opportunity exists to give support to an existing eye care project in Central Asia. Provide external teaching and training for local trainee ophthalmologists, opticians and optometrists for at least 2-4 weeks.
Help maintain high standard of ophthalmic care in clinical and surgical practices and procedures, in the outpatients' clinic, on wards and in the operating theatre. Help to improve doctors' training and accreditation programme through supervision, assessment and direction to medical staff.
Qualifications: Professional ophthalmologist; graduate of accredited ophthalmology programme, and board accreditation (or equivalent). Ability to teach theory and demonstrate clinical or surgical principles and procedures to international professional standards. Knowledge and experience of eye care in a developing country would be helpful.
