The Finance Director will work with a team of competent local staff to develop and maintain strong and transparent financial management systems in line with global best practices for NGOs reflecting the organizations values. S/He reports to the organizations Board is responsible to the Executive Director and participates as a key member of the organizations field-based Leadership Team.
The Finance Director will have experience in financial administration proficiency in English and have cross-cultural communication skills. S/He will be able to effectively lead and manage a small team and be committed to capacity building. S/He will welcome challenges and be willing to make tough decisions while caring for people. S/He will be able to prioritise and perform well under pressure while living and working in an unpredictable cross-cultural context. Professional qualifications such as being a Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant are appreciated but not required.
