Ride for Refugees is a cycling event for serious and casual riders to help raise money and awareness for refugees locally and globally.
Ride individually or gather a team of family and friends and raise funds that will help bring hope to refugees locally in Australia and around the world. Grab your bike – and your helmet! and come along for a great day out. You can cycle 25, 50, 75 or 100kms. Whatever the distance, it’s all about making a difference in the lives of our refugees friends through the funds you raise.
The RIDE Route
The Sydney venue provides a beautiful backdrop of water and lush greenery. There is a 5km dedicated cycling track around the centre. To complete your distance, do the necessary laps in one hit – or take it a bit easier and stop for a rest or two between laps. To give you an idea: 25 km – 5 laps | 50 km – 10 laps | 75 km – 15 laps |100 km – 20 laps
For the kids:
For kids who are confident on their bikes there is a slower inside lane where kids can ride the complete 5kms. Children under the age of 12 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the track as it runs adjacent to the rowing lake (with a beach entry edge)
Parents can set up a blanket on the grassed area and easily watch the kids as they peddle or scoot round or even have a jump on the castle or get their face painted.
While out riding there are bubblers along the course. Look out for the friendly volunteers on bikes on the course ready to help you with your bike or first aid.
Registered RIDErs can help themselves to snacks, drinks and a bacon and egg roll at the catering tent as part of their registration pack. Guests and supporters can grab something to eat and pop a $2 donation in the bucket.
Highest Sydney Fundraiser
Thanks to our generous sponsor, Archidiom, the highest adult fundraiser at each event will receive a voucher to spend at a nominated bike shop in each location.
