MIST is a course where participants are stimulated to think and learn about the challenges of living and working cross-culturally, whether overseas or within Australia.
MIST is designed for individuals, families or teams serving in short-term (3 weeks - 2 years) missions to learn experientially how to prepare for and engage in effective short-term cross-cultural mission.
It is also aimed a equipping agency/church-based workers who have limited previous cross-cultural experience and are involved in mobilising and preparing others for cross-cultural mission.
Topics include:
· Understanding yourself
· Cross cultural shock, stress and re-entry
· 'Being' in another culture
· Bible storytelling
· Relationships and teams, authority\Keeping fresh spiritually & spiritual realities
· Poverty, justice and development issues
· Language learning
· Culturally intelligent communication
· Along with hands-on experiences from cultures around the world.
