About Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia
Crossroads Prison Ministries Australia is a small but dedicated not-for-profit organisation providing Bible study lessons to prison inmates by correspondence. We partner with mentors, churches, and volunteers to offer encouragement and spiritual growth opportunities to incarcerated individuals across Australia and the Pacfic Islands. Our work is supported by a passionate team, a committed Committee of Management, and a strong connection to Crossroads USA, which provides lesson content and other resources.
About the Role
The Salesforce & IT Systems Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of Crossroads' technology and digital infrastructure. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving our Salesforce database, website, IT systems, and cybersecurity. The role also involves liaising with external support providers to ensure our systems are secure, up to date, and operating efficiently.
For many years, this role has been managed by a dedicated Committee member who is now preparing to step back and is eager to train a successor. Given the significant knowledge transfer involved, this position is best suited to someone able to make a long-term commitment rather than those seeking short-term experience. As our sole IT expert, the person in this role will play a crucial part in maintaining our systems and ensuring smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee and maintain the organisation’s database (Salesforce), including user support, enhancements, and liaising with external support organisations.
· Manage the organisation’s website, ensuring it is updated, maintained, and functioning effectively.
· Oversee IT infrastructure, including computers and workstations, ensuring operating systems and software are up to date.
· Administer Microsoft 365, ensuring all data is stored securely in OneDrive rather than on local drives.
· Implement and monitor data security measures, including antivirus software and access controls.
· Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and functioning correctly.
· Work with external IT service providers to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.
· Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and implement systems that reduce manual workload, increase efficiency and allow staff and volunteers to focus on core mission activities.
· Provide IT support and guidance to staff and volunteers as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a committed Christian who is an active member of a local church and has a heart for prison ministry and a desire to see lives transformed through God’s Word. The ideal candidate will have experience with IT systems, website management, and database administration, with a strong preference for someone with Salesforce administration experience. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with external support providers and internal stakeholders are essential. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting incarcerated individuals on their faith journey.
We are seeking someone who expects to be able to make a long term commitment to Crossroads. This role does not suit somebody looking for work experience. It may be ideal for someone recently retired or with a regular day available each week who is passionate about using their skills to make a lasting impact. We warmly welcome applicants with a disability and will provide support as needed to ensure they can thrive in this role.
If you are interested in this role or would like more information, we would love to hear from you.
