Business as Mission (BAM) aims to use the work place to conduct mission in two ways.
Firstly, Christian business people can often get into countries and build relationships with non-Christians where traditional missionaries cannot. Working with non-Christians provides many opportunities to share the gospel
Secondly, skilled business people can create jobs in disadvantaged countries with high unemployment. Providing jobs creates many benefits such as strengthening families, improving health, and education. Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that “for it is He [God] who gives you the ability to produce wealth”.
Business as Mission acknowledges that God has given business people and professionals gifts that can be used for building the kingdom.
We recommend that Australian Christian business professionals seeking to use their talents on the mission field check out the current 'business as mission' opportunities on Mission Seek. Mission Seek presents BAM opportunities from a number of Australian mission organisations in the one place.
